Health and safety legislation now makes it a requirement to wear hearing protection in certain environments and the uptake of hearing protection use is rising. All employers have a legal duty to ensure any worker exposed to noise in excess 80dB is offered hearing protection. For noise in excess of 85dB, hearing protection becomes mandatory.
