We value your ears

At Lakeland Hearing, we don’t offer free hearing tests and we do ask you to make an investment in your hearing. We could follow the path of the ‘competition’ and other hearing care service providers who ‘plug’ their free hearing tests, but we have made a proactive decision not to do this. Why? Because we value your ears.

Mostly, audiology service providers who offer free hearing tests do this to get as many  people through their door as possible. The more people they see in a conveyor belt of appointments, the more they are likely to recoup their costs from elsewhere as customers go on and purchase hearing aids from them. Often appointments are rushed in a rapid turnaround of clients and the time needed to thoroughly examine your hearing and explain the results is not available. Your unique needs and lifestyle are not taken into consideration.

Our team of audiologists and hearing aid dispensers work differently. Vicky and Madeleine are highly qualified and highly experienced, and they regularly take time and make investment in their professional development. The diagnostic hearing assessment performed at Lakeland Hearing is a fully comprehensive battery of tests which, when performed by our expert team, can identify issues with hearing and across the wider hearing system. Diagnostic testing needs to be done in a controlled environment with limited background noise and requires extensive equipment. We can thoroughly test the hearing system to identify hearing loss, middle ear disorders and other conditions that need further investigation by Ear Nose and Throat consultants, such as acoustic neuromas. These conditions need to be identified and referred to ENT, and the first point of contact with an audiologist in our clinic can allow for the appropriate referrals to be undertaken.

But it’s not just this that we feel makes us worth a visit and why you should put your precious hearing health in our care. We are passionate about helping people to improve their quality of life through better hearing. And we listen. We will allocate plenty of time during a consultation to get to know each and every client and what their needs and difficulties may be. There is no one size fits all at Lakeland Hearing.

We discuss our findings with you and actively involve you in meeting your hearing requirements. We then offer impartial advice on the best solutions available to meet these. We are not tied in to any one hearing aid supplier and so we can give you optimum advice that is transparent, honest and never swayed by profit.

So, while we don’t shy away from making charges, this is because we value you and your hearing. We are proud to have long relationships with many of our customers. Over the years, we get to know you, build a strong relationship, and truly understand you and your needs so that we can provide you with the best possible care.

Our appointments are without obligation, and all hearing aids from Lakeland Hearing are supplied on a 28 day trial period. If you do choose to purchase a hearing aid from us, the cost of your hearing assessment will be deducted from this. Get in touch with us to find out more.
