Hearing Protection
About 70% of people exposed to loud noise never or seldom wear hearing protection (National Health and Nutrition Survey 2011-2012).
Exposure to loud sounds can damage our hearing. It may be a sudden short burst of very loud noise of a more prolonged exposure to a lower level of loud noise. Both can cause damage to our hearing systems and once damaged, it is irreversible. Noise induced hearing loss is preventable, despite this it is still the second most common cause of hearing loss in adults.
