Musicians' Hearing Protection

Musicians’ Hearing Protection

Musicians’ ear plugs

Exposure to loud noises can cause a noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus. Musicians are high risk for both these conditions due to the frequency of exposure and level of sound made by instruments and group playing. I play in a symphony orchestra and I recently took the sound level meter from clinic into my rehearsal, in a five minute sample we exceeded the upper limit of the sound level meter (100dB) multiple times. Imagine how much that adds up to over a 2.5 hour rehearsal!

Musicians' Hearing Protection

Musicians’ plugs have a flat frequency response filter to protect the ears from loud sounds but still allow the natural frequency response of music, thus maintaining a balanced sound. The filters can be swapped depending on the level of noise the musician is experiencing.

If you need noise protection plugs that also contain an audio pick up, then this can be an option as well! Bluetooth or wired, you have a choice.
